The Swan Valley Stampeders were short-handed with 5 guys suspended and one injured, and the Wayway Wolverines took full advantage, scoring the first four goals of last night's game, and rolling to a 7-1 win.
Logan Dew had two goals and an assist. Dew's goals came short-handed and on the powerplay. Their five other goals were all even-strength, from Paul Marcoux, Shane Gray, Chad Loewen, Ryan Regel and Evan Durnin. Niko Grose had 2 assists on the night, giving him 11-points in his first 10 games as a Wolverine.
Carter Selinger scored Swan's only goal, his first as a member of the Stampeders.
Chris Ward faced 44 shots, stopping 37 in the loss, while the Wolverines kept the Stamps to just 19 shots on goal. Jayme Janzen stopped 18.
The two teams hook up again tonight (WED) in Swan River... another game you can catch on GX94.
**Side Note**... Kudos to referee Garth Loeppky who took a puck in the side of the face in the first period and finished the game with a gigantic lump on the right side of his face and his right eye nearly swollen shut!
