NORTH BATTLEFORD-- I'll keep 'er short tonight. The Mils weren't really themselves again as they dropped a 5-4 (OT) decision to the last place Battlefords North Stars, making it now 1 of a possible 4 points on their 3-game trip, ahead of tonight's (SAT) finale in Kindersley.
Tyson Melnychuk opened the scoring 2:52 in, but the Stars would get the next four. The Mils rallied for 3 in a row to force overtime. Kale Dolinski scored twice, giving him 18 on the season, while Logan Herauf also broke out of a slump that previously had him score one goal in his last 14 games.
For Battleford, Jesse Lebreton was a stand-out. The defenseman had 2 goals, and assisted on the overtime winner by Chris Jung, 59 seconds into the extra frame.
Riley Hengen made 19/23, while Travis Bosch went the rest of the way, 17/18.
All 4 North Stars goals came on the powerplay (4/6), while the Mils went 2/6.
7:00 game in Kindersley tonight... we'll be on the air just before puck drop with GX94's Kinsmen Radio Bingo running from 6:30 to 7:00.
