The Yorkton Harvest leave Christmas morning for the "AAA" Mac's Tournament in Calgary. Head Coach Graham Garrett previewed the trip.
===========================
- I know, I've been slipping lately when it comes to posting the Weekly Coach's Shows on the linked page. It's something I pretty much have to be at the radio station to do... and I've lived out of hotels 5 of the last 7 days. So rather than posting all of this week's shows which are now out of date... how 'bout we start fresh in the New Year?
- The Yorkton Terriers and Melville Millionaires both finish their pre-Christmas schedules against the Melfort Mustangs. The Terriers host the 'Stangs tomorrow (FRI), while the Mils get their turn on Saturday.
- Mils' Coach/GM Jamie Fiesel leaves for Port Alberni B.C. Boxing Day morning as he's an Assistant Coach for the Team West World Under-17 team. The roster has 11 Manitoba born players and 11 from Saskatchewan with 1992 birthdays, including Notre Dame Hounds' youngster Jaden Schwartz.
- My final broadcast of 2008 is tomorrow (FRI) as the Wayway Wolverines visit the Neepawa Natives. I'm eager to see Niko Grose make his Wolverines' debut after this week's trade with the Estevan Bruins that saw Ian Clarke head Estevan's way.
- My holidays begin Saturday and I'm back to work Monday the 29th. Christmas rules. But I'm also looking forward to seeing what the 2009 portions of the SJHL/MJHL schedules have in store. I'm REALLY hoping for a league final to broadcast. This is my fourth season doing hockey and I've never done a game in April. Mils lost out in Game 6 in Kindersley last season on March 30th. Game 7 would have been April 1st back in Melville. But, it's still December... lots of hockey to go yet.
- Today was going to be the day I finish off my Christmas shopping... but with Monday's Swan Valley/Wayway game postponed, I took care of that Monday... coldest day of the year but I got 'er done. I think I'm done... might need one more... the better half actually told me how many things she got me and roughly what it cost (I asked!)... and I think I'm one gift and a few dollars behind. Ugggh. I don't know why she does that... I don't even care about presents... I just like getting back home, eating my grandmas and her baba's cooking, and watching the World Juniors.
