Binscarth, MB product Cody McLeod scored a pair of goals, his 6th and 7th of the season, leading the Colorado Avalanche to a 5-1 win over Nashville last (MON) night.McLeod played for the Wayway Wolverines before joining the WHL's Portland Winter Hawks in 2001-02. After parts of four seasons in the minors, this is McLeod's 2nd season in the NHL.

Team West is 1-0 at the World Under-17s in Port Alberni and Nanaimo, B.C. Team West, which includes Melville Millionaires' Coach/GM Jamie Fiesel on its coaching staff, beat Quebec 4-2 yesterday to open their tournament. Charles Inglis (Saskatoon Blades, WHL) scored 2-goals and an assist. Dominick Favreau (Regina Pats, WHL) and Brooks Macek (Tri City Americans, WHL). Junior 'A' players Jaden Schwartz (Notre Dame Hounds, SJHL) and Kyle Krzyzaniak (Neepawa Natives, MJHL) each had assists.
West meets up with Finland today (TUE) at 4:00 SK Time.
