Sunday Quickie

For the second straight Sunday, I'm heading to Portage to call the Wayway Wolverines (12-7-2-2) and the Terriers (18-3-0). The Wolverines are wrapping up basically the toughest 3-in-3 road trip possible. Friday, they lost 6-3 to the Addison Division 2nd Place Selkirk Steelers, then fell 6-4 to the Addison 1st Place Winnipeg Saints, and now battle the LEAGUE leading Portage Terriers tonight. And go figure, their lone divisional matchup winds up being the 3rd game of the 3 in 3.

Wayway's 28 points has them tied for third in the Sherwood Division with OCN, while the Wolverines have 4 games in hand on the Blizzard heading into tonight's game. Voice of the Blizzard Jamie Smalley told me Wednesday they're the only team to beat Portage in their rink this season, and they did it twice.

6:20 Pre Game, 6:30 Play by Play tonight on GX94.

In the SJHL last night, Melville beat La Ronge 6-3, improving to 15-2-2, while the Yorkton Terriers left Flin Flon with a split, winning last night's game 4-3.

I was up early yesterday, spent all day in Regina, including the disappointing Rider game... and I crashed hard when I got home. 11:15 - 10:15. Nice 11 hour sleep! I'll need it after a busy week last week and another Portage trip today, which by the way I should probably begin seeing how I intend to leave 8 minutes from now (12:37). Talk to you tonight!
