It a Remembrance Day edition of David Dedman Pontiac/Buick/GMC Hockey on GX94. The roads are a little slippery around these parts, but as of now it looks like the game will go on.
Still no phone lines in Weyburn's rink, so we'll go through our cell kit again, which means the sound quality will be junk, but better than nothing.
It's just the second meeting of the season between these top two teams in the Sherwood. The Mils (15-2-2) have 32 points to lead the way, while Weyburn (15-8-0) have 30 points... but have also played 4 more games than Melville. Third place Kindersley has the second best winning percentage in the Conference (13-4-0-2= .737%), compared to Weyburn's .652%. Melville has the top winning percentage in the entire SJHL (.842%), while Humboldt's just behind that rate at (17-3-1= .833%).
Melville won the only other meeting between themselves and the Red Wings 4-1 at home back on October 22nd. Travis Bosch made 34 saves on 35 shots that night, while Weyburn's A.J. Whiffen gave up 4 goals on 39 shots.
I'm gonna wrap this up and give myself lots of time to get to Melville... but do tune in tonight... I'll play Brian Propp for our Mils' 100 Year of Memories feature in the second intermission. 7:20 Pre Game Show, 7:30 Play by Play on GX94.
