Alumni Watch: Shudo / Collins

Chris Shudo joined the Melville Millionaires at the deadline last season, coming over from the Westside Warriors (BCHL). He had 14 points in 16 regular season games as a Millionaire, and now leads the Central Hockey League's Wichita Thunder in goal scoring. He's got 5-goals and 7-points in 8 games, to sit third on the team in points. Shudo's already registered a hat trick in the pro hockey ranks, and his point totals have him ahead of a few notable former Western Hockey Leaguers on his team, like Troy Ofukany (Kelowna/Regina), and Luke Hunter (Swift Current). Other familiar names making their home with the Thunder include another former Mil in Jordan Hack (3 pts in 5 games), and long time Portage Terrier Stan Yanchishyn.

Ex Waywayseecappo Wolverine Sean Collins is 2 games into his NCAA career with the Cornell Big Red. Collins is pointless in his first two games, but he's not alone. The Big Red have managed just 1 goal in their first two games. Collins, a 7th round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets, scored 51-goals and 115-points in Wayway last season, earning himself the scholarship and the NHL draft selection as a 19 year old. Now 20, Collins' junior days are behind him as he pursues his Ivy League degree and hopefully one day, a spot with the Blue Jackets.
