Back From Ochap

The Ochapowace Thunder picked up their second win of the season last night, beating the Assiniboia Southern Rebels 3-1 on home ice.

After a scoreless first period, Kirk Cote opened the scoring for the Thunder early in the second, but the Rebels tied the affair less than 2 minutes later.
In the third period, Dakota Scott pounced on a rebound and gave Ochapowace the lead back, before Keldon Sanderson scored his team-leading 4th of the year into an empty net in the final minute.

The Thunder are now 2-and-4 in their expansion season.

Their next action's Friday when they host Fort Knox.

Anyone else tired of those Humboldt Broncos? Don't get me wrong, they're a first class organization led by a first class guy in Dean Brockman... but for crying out loud... how many times in their now 14-and-1 season have they won in OT or a shootout, or came from behind late to force OT of a SO... and eventually win it. Happened tonight vs Battleford. Somebody beat these guys in OT/SO already!

Would it be crazy to think this Humboldt team could win 50 games in a 56 game schedule? I dunno, seems a little high... but that's a winning percentage of .893. Right now they're at .933. It's hard to maintain that over a grueling season, but still... they're lookin tough.
