Terriers Win Rookie Game 4-2

A half-game shutout by 16-year-old Warren Shymko and a pair of Justin Stupak goals helped the Yorkton Terrier rookies to a 4-2 win over the Melville Millionaire rookies. I'll keep it short tonight, as the two teams play again tomorrow with a good chunk of vets set to be in the lineup on either side. Brett Holloway wore the 'C' for Yorkton, was one of the bigger and stronger players on the ice, and easily one of the top Terriers tonight. Another dangerous guy was 1993-born Taylor Thompson for the Terriers. He was drafted by Portland in the WHL this past year, and can't play Junior this year due to his age, but watch for him in a year or two. For Melville, defenseman Justin Hollinger really stood out for me... great skater, good size. Here's the summary:

First Period

YOR
- Lane Rey (Brendan Poncelet, Zach Soke)
MVL- Elliot Hubick (Justin Hollinger)
YOR- Justin Stupak (Brett Holloway, Brett Derkach)

Second Period

MVL
- Dillon Currie (Ryin Allison, Zaine Walker)
YOR- Davis Vandane (Gabe Gardipy)

Third Period

YOR
- Justin Stupak 2 (Unassisted) (Empty Net)

Speaking of goalies, it looks like Joel Danyluk's impressing the Prince George Cougars in the pre season so far.
