Matt Kinnunen (pictured) had points on all 3 Melville goals as the Millionaires beat the Notre Dame Hounds 3-2 on Monday.Kinnunen set up all 3 goals, scored by Michael Jordan, Austin Krahenbil and Daniel Hope. Jordan also had himself a 2 point night.
Special teams won the game for the Mils, who went 2-for-3 with the man advantage, and killed off 5 of 6 Notre Dame powerplays.
The Hounds made a game of it, down 3-0 heading into the third, until John Esposito scored on a bank shot on the PP around the midway point. And with the goalie out, Kyle Ireland tipped in a Rylan Schwartz point shot to make it 3-2 with 41 seconds left, but that was as far as the comeback would go.
Travis Bosch and Mark Currie put on a goaltending clinic. Bosch got the win making 27 saves, while Currie made a few spectacular stops as part of a 34 save performance.
The Mils' next action is right back in Wilcox against the Hounds again this Saturday, as they look to make it 5-and-0 out of the gates.
