Shudo was a deadline day pickup by the Mils and put up 14 points in 16 regular season games in the SJHL, before helping the Mils get to the Sherwood Conference final.
Shudo joins former Yorkton Terrier goaltender Lynden Sammartino as a SAIT Trojan freshman this season. While the two were rivals in the SJHL, they grew up and played hockey together in Surrey, B.C.
I googled Shudo's name, and the first result was a YouTube video of him and Erick Ruud in a scrap, while Shudo was with the Westside Warriors and Ruud with the Merrit Centennials (BCHL). Who knew they'd both be traded to the SJHL literally seconds apart. Ruud to Weyburn, Shudo to the Millionaires.
Also landing a scholarship is graduating Kindersley Klipper forward Jonathan Redlick. The Biggar, SK native is heading to Genesco (NCAA DIV III). More info at http://www.sjhl.ca/

In other rather large SJHL news, the Notre Dame Hounds have received commitments from BOTH Schwartz brothers for the 2008-09 season. Rylan, 18, led the league in rookie points last season 29-34-63 in 56GP. He had the option to go to Colorado College in the NCAA, but is holding off on that for another year. Jaden, 16, was the leading scorer in the Saskatchewan "AAA" Midget Ranks with the "AAA" Hounds, racking up an astonishing 39-72-111 in 44GP. That could be a scary combination, and puts the Hounds right in the thick of things in what's shaping up to a VERY competitive Sherwood Conference.
