Season starts Friday, September 12th with Melville in Estevan and Yorkton home to Weyburn.
As Rivals, the Terriers and Millionaires meet 8 times, 4 home and homes:
October 10/11, November 21/22, Dec 30/Jan1 Jan 30/31
Yorkton never plays more than 3 games in a row at home. They play 5 straight road games at one point (Oct/28 @ Kin, Oct/29 @ Bat, Nov/7 @ FF, Nov/8 @ FF, Nov/11 @ Est)
Melville has a season high road trip of 6 games (Oct/25 @ Nip, Oct/28 @ Nip, Oct/29 @ MFT, Nov/7 @ LAR, Nov/8 @ LAR, Nov/11 @ WEY). They've got a 5 game homestand, also a season high (Nov/22 vs YOR, Nov/26 vs NIP, Nov/28 vs ND, Dec/3 vs ND, Dec/5 vs FF).
Yorkton's Christmas break sees them have 10 days off between games. They host Melfort Dec/19, and then welcome Melville for the start of the New Year's home and home Dec/30.
Melville's holiday is a day shorter, they welcome the Mustangs Dec/20, before heading to Yorkton on the 30th. This year, the Mils get the annual New Year's Day game at The Vault Thu/Jan/1 at 2:00.
Yorkton will host a World Jr. 'A' Selection game Tuesday, October 7th at 7:30.
The regular season ends Feb/18, the Terriers wrap it up early, with a home game against Battlefords Feb/13. For Melville, they finish off the regular season hosting Humboldt on Feb/17.
Now, time to make a broadcast schedule. I've never done this before, as I wasn't here to begin the season last year. And the previous two places I've worked at it was much easier to make a schedule covering one team rather than four, but I'm looking forward to it. Sounds like it'll be the same amount as last year. 15 Yorkton games, 15 Melville games, 15 Swan Valley games, and 8 Wayway games for a total of 53 regular season. I'm hoping for LOTS of playoff games again this year, and I'm thinking we'll get lots. If it's a Yorkton @ Melville game, Yorkton advertising gets played, and it counts as a "Yorkton" broadcast, and vice versa, same goes for Swan Valley/Wayway matchups. I've got next week off so most likely the schedule will get done once I get back. I could probably scratch something together in the next couple days, but it likely won't be "finalized" by tomorrow. But hey, we're still 2 1/2 months away from dropping the puck, exciting stuff though!
