The Wayway Wolverines, like most teams in the Sherwood Division, went winless in two games at the MJHL Showcase in Winnipeg last weekend.
But, shortly after returning home, they turned their bus around, went right back to that part of the province, and made amends.
After a 7-6 shootout win in Steinbach on Wednesday, the Wolverines were back at the MTS Ice Plex to play the Winnipeg Blues, the Showcase hosts, who took a record of 8-and-2 into last night's game... and, the Wolverines came out on top 4-2.
James Davidson made 27/29 saves in his second start as a Wolverine.
Wayway scored three time on the powerplay and got 1g-1a from both Richard Little and Thomas Ward-Cardinal. Russell Turner scored for a second straight night, while Brett Lafond also scored, and Shane Goodrunning had two assists.
The win boosts the Wolverines' record back to .500, at 5-5-1, which leaves them in 2nd spot in the MJHL Sherwood, and their next five games are on home ice, starting Sunday at 4:00 against Winkler.
