Robbie Ciolfi will skate on Farrell Agencies Arena ice for the first time without a Terrier jersey tonight, when he leads his Humboldt Broncos into Yorkton.
Ciolfi was part of a futures deal, along with Clarke Breitkreuz, to head to the Broncos in the off-season, completing the trade that brought Justin Buzzeo and Jeremy Boyer to the Terriers on January 7th of this year.
Breitkreuz is currently in Germany, having accepted a contract to play Division III professionally for EV Duisburg.
As a 19-year-old last season, Ciolfi put up 22-goals and 52-points in 47 regular season games, and went on to score a league-leading 14 playoff goals in 15 post-season games. He scored Yorkton's only goal in Game 7 of last year's final, a 3-1 loss in La Ronge.
He's scoring plenty for the Broncos this year too, and they're coming in bunches.
Ciolfi has 11 goals, and 8 of them came during a four game stretch. He's got four multi-goal games already this season, including two hat tricks.
He's also due. Since that 8 goals in 4 games span, Ciolfi hasn't scored in his last five games, including Saturday, when the Terriers held him off the scoresheet.
The Terriers host the Broncos tonight at 7:30.
