Subject: Yorkton Harvest
As with many organizations, such as ours, finances and active volunteers are always at a premium. The Yorkton Harvest AAA Hockey Club had reached a point where their dressing room, in the Farrell Agencies Arena, needed a complete makeover. Thanks to the volunteer efforts of team trainer Johnny Ronn and the ideas of former player and assistant coach Lee Rusnak, a completely new look room is ready for this years team. With the financial assistance of the Gallagher Center, Deneschuk Homes and Integrity Builders; the walls are repainted; new and improved flooring has been installed and new stalls for the players equipment have been constructed and put in place. The crowning touch is a "Wall of Fame" that honours the people who have brought glory to our franchise. Two team pictures are honored: The 1993 Air Canada Cup Champions and the 2003 League Champions who were national semi-finalists. The "Wall" includes photos of Reg Kachanowski, founder of the team in 1983. Included are Al Harrison, Coach of the 1993 Air Canada Cup Champions and longtime Equipment Manager Scoop Hansen. Also pictured is Brad Harrison, former trainer, who now works as the Assistant Equipment Manager of the Edmonton Oilers. The young members of our team are amazed and motivated by the 10 former players who made it to the NHL. Pictured are top(l-r) Tim Cheveldae, Peter Schaefer, Darcy Hordichuk, and Chris Kunitz middle(l-r) Nick Schultz, Nolan Schaefer, Matt Zaba, and Tanner Glass bottom(l-r) Riley Armstrong and Brett Carson.
Our organization is quite proud of its history and many of our fans are unaware of the sucess this team has had. It's possible that this years team may include a future NHLer. For $6/game or a $80/season ticket(22 games) you will guaranteed entertaining hockey played by young men "living the dream". We look forward to seeing you in the rink. (Exhibition games here Sept 10 and 14 while regular season begins here Sept 28 versus ND Hounds)
PS: We still are in search of 3 Billet homes for our players. If you can help call Garth @ 783-0789 or 641-6200

Reg Kachanoski is my Father and Al Harrison was a good friend of our family-they are both missed greatly so it was nice to come across this article and will pass on the info of the wall of fame to our family. Thanks, Sheila Patterson
