EXTRA TIME NEEDED FOR STAMPS & TERRIERS

The Swan Valley Stampeders lost for the first time in this young MJHL season, albeit in a shootout, to the Dauphin Kings on Wednesday.

Jayson Argue and Ryan Bembridge went head to head in goal, and neither one would budge, with the game tied 1-1 after regulation.

It took 7 rounds of a shootout for either team to score, and Kings' defenseman Matt McAleenan was the only shooter to score.

Shots were 31-21 for Dauphin, as Argue made 30 saves. The 18-year-old has a 0.96 GAA and a .968% through two games.

Michael Butler scored the Stamps' lone goal in regulation. Swan Valley plays their third straight home game on Friday when they host the Steinbach Pistons.

The Yorkton Terriers held a 3-1 lead after two periods against the Flin Flon Bombers, but the Bombers charged and got the tying goal with 11 seconds left in regulation.

A shootout was also needed in this one, and Jeremy Johnson, Ryan Sookro and Jamie Vlanich all scored in the SO, and the Terriers pulled out the 4-3 (SO) win.

In regulation, the line of Kyle McLeod (2a), Curtis Oliver (1g-1a) and Jeremy Johnson (1g-1a) combined for 6 points, while Devon McMullen scored a powerplay goal.

Kamil Przepiorka made his first regular season SJHL start, and made 34 saves on 37 shots.

The Terriers (2-1) are off until Sunday when they host the Estevan Bruins.

Just checked out the PG Cougars site. I do not see Odgers on the roster. Has he been released?

Asked around, sounds like he wasn't on PG's roster by mistake and it's fixed now.

Looks like the Terriers have some potential but they seem to be pretty young. Harder to watch after the great talent we got to see last year.
