Win-Win Wolverines Make it 7

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have now won 7 straight hockey games, after a 3-2 triumph over OCN on Thursday.

You can also make it 19 of a possible 20 points in the Wolverines' last 10 games.

Former Melville Millionaire Bobby Janzen scored for Wayway in the second period to make it 1-1 after two.

In the third, the two clubs combined to score three goals in just over 2 minutes. Josh Daley made it 2-1 Wolverines, and after the Blizzard answered right back, Dave Williams scored to make it 3-2, and Wayway hung on to take all 4 points of their mid-week double-dip with the Blizzard.

Wayway did lose leading goal scorer Shane Goodrunning in the first period. He was handed a match penalty, which always carries a 3 game suspension with it.

The Wolverines are now 26-21-6, good for 58 points, and a 3 point lead over Swan Valley, and now a 9 point edge on Neepawa, who they trailed in the standings what seems like just yesterday. Wayway's played two more games than both the Stampeders and Natives, and now get set to host the Winnipeg Saints on Saturday, to wrap up a stretch of 7 of 8 on home ice. They'll play their following three games on the road.

Interesting stat: The Wolverines now have the 6th most points in the 11 team MJHL, after being cellar dwellars for 40+ games.
