Stamps Look To Clinch

A win for the Swan Valley Stampeders in Neepawa tonight would assure the Stamps a playoff spot for the second straight season.

The Stampeders lead the Natives by 13 points heading into tonight's action, while a win would make it 15, and Neepawa would have 7 games remaining, meaning they couldn't mathematically catch Swan Valley.

Even an overtime or shootout win would make it a 14 point gap. And, according to the MJHL Website, the first tie breaker is head to head.

The Stamps have won 4 of the 7 meetings so far, meaning any kind of win tonight would give them the season series against the Natives.

Catch the broadcast on GX94 tonight, the Pre Game Show at 7:20, Play-by-Play at 7:30.

It's our second last MJHL broadcast of the regular season, with the Wayway @ Swan Valley matchup on February 23rd wrapping up our regular season schedule on the air.

The SJHL Survivor series starts February 25th, so I couldn't put Swan @ Wayway on our schedule for that night, incase Yorkton or Melville was in that series. Melville's in that spot right now, and they'd be starting on the road... so that game would take priority.

If Melville happens to miss the playoffs (which I'm NOT hoping for), and that Swan/Wayway game has playoff implications, I might see if it'd be possible to get that one on the air, but it could be a long shot.

------------

The Wayway Wolverines haven't secured a playoff berth yet, but they're close.

The Wolverines lead Neepawa by 11 points, so even a Wolverines win and a Natives loss tonight, wouldn't quite be enough to get them in.

Wayway's in Selkirk tomorrow, and then have 4 of their last 5 games on home ice, while Neepawa's final 7 games includes two Dauphin's, two OCN's, and three on the road against the Addison Division (Saints, Blues, Steelers).

We'll (Stamps) clinch a playoff spot. We're good, we're confident and we're 4-0 in February.
