- Riley Paterson scored twice, Zak Majkowski had the other, but the Yorkton Terriers gave up four first period goals, dropping their 5th straight game, 7-3 in Melfort. Brayden Metz had one assist in his Mustangs' debut. It came on their first goal of the game. The Terriers host the red hot Kindersley Klippers in their next action on Tuesday.
- Team Canada's collapse happened so fast, I didn't even have time to get angry. It was like, yup, gold for sure, then BANG, nope. It's an amazing thing in hockey. You tell yourself not to change anything while protecting a lead, but you sub-consciously let off the gas, and go into a prevent defense. Canada's defensive zone coverage was laughable in that third period. I questioned goaltending throughout the round robin, but it wasn't goaltending that lost them the gold. They were simply waiting for 20 minutes to tick off the clock so they could get their gold medals.
- The Dauphin Kings became the first 'buyers' in the MJHL on deadline week, landing Winnipeg Blues' forward Evan Gravenor in a three team swap. Dauphin didn't lose any roster players in the deal, sending 'futures' to the Blues, and the AJHL's St. Albert Steel, who were also in on the swap. Gravenor had 19 goals and 41 pts in Winnipeg. Your move, Stampeders! (And Terriers, Blizzard, Natives, etc). I really think this year's deadline will go a long way in determining what goes on in the MJHL Sherwood... it's just that close.
- I have done absolutely ZERO for this week's "Inside The MJHL Show," but do plan to have it up this afternoon.
- The Wayway Wolverines host Neepawa tomorrow night, in their biggest game of the year so far. A win would leave the Wolverines 2 points out of a potential playoff berth, while a loss would push them 6 back.
- In the PJHL, Fort Knox beat Regina 6-2 on Tuesday, but fell 2-1 in last night's rematch in Regina. Shots on goal were 51-48 Regina in a 2-1 game! Nathan Montgrand, who I really think could play Jr 'A' somewhere, made 49 saves in the Knox net. Also last night, Ochapowace played their first game since Christmas, and since losing teammate Myles Cameron in a fatal accident, and picked up a point in a 4-3 SO loss in Pilot Butte.
- Melville's Jessica Campbell is the YOUNGEST player (just over 18) on Canada's National Women's Under-22 team at the MLP Cup in Switzerland. She scored two goals in their opening game on Monday, a 5-0 triumph over the Swiss. They're back in action today.
- Langenburg's Kody Hartung is the only local rink taking part in Junior Curling Provincials, which start today in Nipawin. His first game goes tonight at 8:00.
- I'm jumping on the Millionaires bus early tomorrow morning. We'll have Friday's game from Battleford on the air. They're also in Kindersley the next night, that one's not on the air.

And I can't help but think of these two videos when I hear the names of the two latest players to be enshrined in Baseball's Hall-of-Fame.
