Tagoona Strikes Again, Mils Sweep Home & Home

It was probably the most entertaining Yorkton-Melville game so far this season, with the Millionaires coming from behind to beat the Terriers 4-3 in overtime.

Roger Tagoona potted the winner on a great pass from Michael Rogoschewsky with 35.5 seconds left in the extra frame. Tagoona had 3 goals and an assist during the home and home.

Speaking of Rogoschewsky, he had a monster 3rd period and overtime, scoring a goal and two assists in the final 24 minutes of the game.

Tagoona was credited with 2 goals, but we felt, as did the coaches, that Lucas Froese had Tagoona's first shot bounce off him and in. Sounds like it's been changed, but doesn't appear online as I type this.

If that was indeed Brayden Metz and Cody Hanson's last games in Blue & White (at least at home), they're going out on a good note. Metz had two assists to hit the 50-point plateau, while Hanson scored his 20th, and added one assist.

Clarke Breitkreuz scored twice for the Terriers, his 21st and 22nd of the season, while Zak Majkowski opened the scoring with his 18th.

Shots were 46-38 Melville, with Zach Rakochy making 35 saves for the OTW, and Devin Peters stopped 42 for the Terriers.

Park's Cup Update:
Melville: 4-2 (8 pts) vs Terriers
Yorkton: 2-2-1-2 (7 pts) vs Mils

2 games remaining:
Fri/Feb/4: @ MVL
Sat/Feb/5: @ YOR

Oh, and before I forget! Close to 1,000 fans made it out to EACH rink this weekend. Aaaand, both games were on the radio, and it was cold and miserable out. Hate to keep harping on it but I understand broadcasting home games is still an issue in some circles. I know Dan O'Connor's awaiting my annual post on the subject, but I'm hoping it doesn't come to that this year Dano!

Nice Burn on that dude Craig!!!

Terriers were, like I said, a totally different team yesterday but just faced a wall in the Melville net.

Still a bit of hockey left to played this season.

I get sick and tired reading these posts from downers like the anonymous fan above. Give the players a break...they just lost a team-mate to a tragic car accident, maybe that had alot to do with the way they played! They are still in first place...every team is allowed to lose a few games now and then, under the circumstances they should not be criticized by someone who can't even spell! Go Terriers Go!
