- Duncan McAlpine hit the Cardinals' first home run of the season. Thomas McAlpine, Tanner Waite and Preston Lyon had 2 hits each.
Saturday: 1-0 L @ Melville.
- Cards gave up just 2 hits. Richard Seaton goes 2-for-4. Pitcher Stephen Johnson tossed all 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits, and took the loss.
Sunday: 16-5 W vs Moose Jaw
- David Kaplan 4-for-5, 6 RBI, was a HR short of the cycle. Preston Lyon 4-for-4, 4 R. Jon Mihic 2-for-5, 3 R.
Cards host Saskatoon tonight (MON) and tomorrow.

Saturday: 1-0 W vs Yorkton.
- Gaughan gets both Mils hits, 2-for-3, run scored
Mils host Regina Tuesday, then play 5 in 5 nights on the road Wed-Sun (SC, SC, Reg, Sktn, Sktn)

Yorkton Bulldogs Jr Lacrosse
Friday: 12-3 W vs Estevan
- First win of the season for the 'Dogs. Brendon Tuberfield 4g-3a, Justin Genaille 1g-4a, Brandon Wizniak, Geoff Jones, Zack Soke all 2g-2a.
Sunday: 11-4 L vs Regina Riot
- Goal scorers Tuberfield (2), Soke, Dalton Bakke.

Gordie Howe
Mr. Hockey was at the Painted Hand Casino Friday night, and was also on hand at the Pow Wow at the Gallagher Centre. Gordie no longer does interviews, but I caught up with his former Red Wings' teammate, and Yorkton product Metro Prystai at Friday's supper.



Track & Field Provincials
By my count, the East Central District picked up 21 medals at Track & Field Provincials in Moose Jaw over the weekend, while a total of 29 medals were won from athletes in the "listening area." Stephanie Sawchuk from Melville led the charge with 3 golds and a silver in Junior Girls action. She led all Jr Girls in aggregate points.
