Weyburn 3 @ Cardinals 8
2B Dave Kaplan went 4-for-4 with 2 RBI's, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base, leading the Yorkton Cardinals to their 2nd straight win, an 8-3 decision over the visiting Weyburn Beavers. The result pulls the two teams into a tie for 3rd in the WMBL East Division. Tanner Waite, batting lead-off, went 3-for-5 with an RBI and 2 runs. Yorkton scored 4 times in the 7th inning to build some cushion. The Cards began a stretch of 9 games in as many nights on Monday, and travel to Moose Jaw tonight (TUE), before hosting Saskatoon tomorrow, and Melville on Canada Day.
Saskatoon 3 @ Millionaires 5
The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets out-hit the Melville Millionaires 9-5, but it was the Mils coming out on top with a 5-3 win, their 3rd straight victory as the Blue and White improved to 11-and-8. Ruston Harris went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI's. Each team scored three runs in the 4th inning, and the difference was Melville two 7th inning runs. Reliever Kane Kimrey got the win, working the final three innings, shutting the door with no runs on one hit, while striking out three. The two teams do it all over again tonight (TUE) at Pirie Field.
