Millionaires Suffer First Loss, Hand Swift Current Theirs

The Melville Millionaires and Swift Current Indians were the only two remaining undefeated teams going into last night's Western Major Baseball League action.

Neither of them are unbeaten now, after the two clubs split a double header in Speedy Creek.

Eight Millionaires had hits in the opener, but no one had more than one as they went on to lose Game One 6-2. Paul Lamantia and Josh Frederico each had RBI's.

At that point, Swift Current was 6-and-0 on the season... but the Mils bounced back, improving their own mark to 3-and-1... when Ryan Hasbini went 2-for-3 with an RBI, leading Melville to a 5-1 decision.

Melville stays on the road with a game in Regina tonight, and then a pair in Saskatoon Saturday/Sunday.

The Yorkton Cardinals are scheduled to host Weyburn tonight at 7:05.
