Cards/Mils a Combined 0-6 On the Weekend

Tough weekend for both the Yorkton Cardinals and Melville Millionaires.

The Mils played the league-leading Regina Red Sox three times... lost them all.

The Cards played three games against Okotoks and Lethbridge... the top two teams in the West... lost them all.

Yorkton lost 15-4 on Friday, and 13-1 Saturday in Okotoks, then 6-3 yesterday in Lethbridge. Nick Lindsay went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Yorkton. The Cards try to salvage their 4 game trip tonight with another game in Lethbridge.

Melville dropped both ends of a double header at home to Regina on Friday, losing 8-1 and 1-0... then yesterday, surrendered 11 runs in the 6th inning en route to a 14-5 loss.

It was 14-0 at one point, before the Mils scored all 5 of their runs in the 8th.

There was some good news for Mevlille... and that was last year's batting champ James Green having a breakout game, going 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored, after struggling out of the gate with a batting average below .200.

Melville's home the next 3 nights... to Weyburn tonight, and Edmonton tomorrow and Wednesday.
