Tough Loss For Terriers

9:35 into the hockey game, the Yorkton Terriers stormed out to a 4-0 lead in Melfort, and had to be thinking 'FINALLY! WE'RE GETTING SOME BREAKS!'

They went on to lose 7-4.

Troy Smukowich, Jordan Menke, Kevin Stringfellow and Adam Moar, all 20-year-olds, racked scored in the first half of the first period, and the Terriers led 4-1 after one.

Melfort answered with 4 of their own in the 2nd, and were up 5-4 through two. The 'Stangs added 2 more in the final period.

Hopefully the Terriers at least get some offensive confidence after the first period out-burst, but in very un-Terrier-like fashion, they give up 12 goals during their two-game trip.

Yorkton's off all week, before going BACK on the road yet again, to Flin Flon on Friday and Saturday, but have a much more favourable February... with 6 of their final 8 games at home, one of the road games in Melville, and one in Weyburn, so no more late nights or hotel rooms for them after the FF weekend.

With Melville idle on Saturday, the Terriers (20-24-3-1) remain 3 points up on the Millionaires (19-24-2-1) for 4th, and the Mils now have 2 games in hand.
