Stamps Can't Solve Aime / Wayway Wins 3rd Straight

David Aime.

That's all you need to know.

The OCN Blizzard tender turned aside all 45 shots the Swan Valley Stampeders threw at him, as the Blizzard beat the Stamps 1-0 last night.

Curtis Brolund scored the game's only goal, his third of the season late in the second period.

Jayme Janzen made 27/28 saves in the loss and was also huge for the Stamps, especially in the first period when he stopped all 14 shots he faced, and helped kill off 4 consecutive OCN powerplays in the first frame, including a 33 second 5-on-3.

Swan Valley failed to convert on a longer 5-on-3 in the second period, going 0/4 on the PP, while OCN was 0/5.

The red-hot Wayway Wolverines won their third straight game, this time a 4-1 win over the league-leading Dauphin Kings.

Niko Grose, fresh off his Player of the Week honour, picked up where he left off, and then some, with a goal and 3 assists, getting in on all 4 Wolverines' goals.

Paul Van de Velde (2g-1a) scored twice, while D Stephane Robidoux (1g-2a) opened the scoring.

Chris Jackson made 19/20 saves for Wayway, and has stopped 45/46 shots in his last 2 starts.

The Wolverines host Dauphin again tomorrow (THU) night (7:20/7:30 on GX94).
