Weekend Wrap

After attending my fifth and final wedding of the summer last night, it's time to really focus on the season, which starts for me this Tuesday when the Swan Valley Stampeders visit the OCN Blizzard. I'm sure everyone knows the weekend results by now... but just to keep my pre-season blogging sharp... here's a quick recap.

- As I type this, Steven Jyles just took a knee to wrap up the Banjo Bowl with a tidy 55-10 Rider win over the Bombers. 8 Bomber turnovers... Bishop was JUNK... it was beautiful!

- SJHL pre season's done, for the Mils and Terriers anyway. Yorkton lost 5-4 to Notre Dame on Friday night and 6-1 to Melville last night... I hear that one involved a bit of a dust-up... losta dancing! Yorkton's home to Weyburn while the Mils host Estevan, both on Friday.

- Swan Valley blanked Wayway 4-0 to open their MJHL season on Friday night. Myles Stevens, Ryan Marshall, Darcy Riddell and Brent Wilson sniped for the Stamps, while Chris Ward made 16 saves for the shutout. Carter Selinger added 3 apples, while Stevens and Wilson also tacked on helpers to go with their goals. Again, the Stamps are in OCN Tuesday night in their next action, a game we'll have on the air, starting at 6:50 with the Pre Game Show, Play by Play at 7:00 MB time.
