Terriers (1-1-0-0) @ Hawks (0-1-1-0)

NIPAWIN-- The only team in the SJHL without a win on opening weekend was the Nipawin Hawks, who suffered a regulation and overtime loss to the La Ronge Ice Wolves. The Yorkton Terriers hope the Hawks remain winless with their first of 4 meetings against Nipawin tonight.

The Terriers are coming off a 3-1 win and a 5-1 loss to the Weyburn Red Wings.

As posted earlier, the WHL's Tri-City Americans re-assigned 19 G Joel Danyluk to the Terriers, giving Yorkton three capable goaltenders now. Luke Boechler gets his first SJHL start tonight against the Hawks, with Devin Peters backing him up. Peters is 1-1, 3.00, .916% so far.

Also getting into his first SJHL game tonight will be 17 D John Neibrandt.

Nipawin's Mike Rey has 3g-1a-4p in his first two games.

David Skagen (2a) and Cody Zubko (1g, 1a) lead the Terriers in points. Zubko, Nick Dietrich and Clarke Breitkreuz scored in the Terriers' win, while Jordan Menke had their only goal in a losing cause on Saturday.

Local ties w/ Nipawin... former Swan Valley Stampeder Alexandre Leclerc is now a Hawk... after being traded by the Battlefords North Stars just before the start of the season. Yorkton Harvest alumnus Stuart Holland made the jump to Junior 'A' as a 17-year-old. Holland (Avonlea, SK) put up 11g-24a-35p in 43 games last season. Kory Kimpinski joins his third team in as many seasons in Nipawin, and was a member of the Wayway Wolverines in 2207-08.

Catch the Pre Game Show at 7:20, Play-by-Play at 7:30 on GX94. I think I'll chat with D Kurtis Decker first intermission... and former Terrier goalie Lynden Sammartino after the second period.
