Mils/Cards Home & Home Series

The Yorkton Cardinals and Melville Millionaires kick off a mid-week home-and-home over Canada Day, starting tonight (TUE) in Melville at 7:30, and finishing up tomorrow in Yorkton with a 7:05 start time.

The Millionaires are riding a 3-game winning streak, and their 11-and-5 record tops the East Division, with their .688 winning percentage leading the entire WMBL. The Cardinals (12-10) are second in the East, while their percentage (.545) ranks 4th in the whole league, behind Melville, Okotoks (.667) and Swift Current (.636).

The "game within the games" this week could easily be each team's first basemen. Melville's Josh Corriea and Yorkton's Andrew Haake have led their respective clubs offensively all year.

Haake has team highs in most offensive categories:

Average (.348)
Slugging (.609)
Home Runs (4)
RBI (18)
Doubles (6)
Total Bases (42)
At Bats (69)

Corriea's .439 average leads the league, and he takes a 10-game hitting streak into tonight's game.
