YORKTON PEE WEE 'AA's OFF TO QUEBEC

The Yorkton Pee Wee 'AA' Sherring Gold Terriers are leaving today for Quebec, where they'll take part in the Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament.

The Pee Wee 'AA's went 20-0 in regular season play in the South Sask Pee Wee 'AA' Hockey League this season, and have several players who've put up huge numbers.

This team has been together for the most part, since Atom, where they created a 'AA' Atom team that won back to back league titles.

Yorkton plays an exhibition game tomorrow (SAT) against a Quebec team, before taking on the Drummondville Pee Wee Voligeurs on Sunday in their first tournament game. They'll play two Exhibition games on Monday, and depending how they do Sunday, will play their second tournament game on either Tuesday (if they lose Sunday) or Wednesday (if they win), against either the Columbus Pee Wee Blue Jackets, or Suisse Romande Lynx (Switzerland).

There are 2 Swiss teams in Yorkton's Division, as well as several Canadian and American opponents. A total of 16 countires, including Ukraine, Austria, Italy, Russia, and Finland are represented at the tournament.

Former Terrier Coach/GM Ed Zawatsky is the "AA" Pee Wee's Head Coach.

I spoke with Yorkton 'AA' Trainer Corey Geddes about the upcoming tournament.
