LOCAL CLUBS GO 3-FOR-3

The Yorkton Terriers out-shot the Estevan Bruins 20-2 in the first period, 43-10 on the night, as they beat the Bruins 3-0 to sew up a Top 3 spot in the SJHL Sherwood Conference.

Despite the first period shot totals, it was scoreless, thanks to Bruins' goalie Steven Glass, who made 40 saves on the night.

Warren Shymko made 10 saves for his second shutout of the season (both in Estevan).

Zak Majkowski, Brady Norrish and Tayler Thompson (EN) scored for the Terries, who picked up win #30 on the season.

They assured themselves of finishing ahead of the Bruins, meaning they'll officially avoid the Survivor Series.

Melville once again kept pace with the Terriers, as the Millionaires knocked off another top team, shading Battleford 2-1.

Shots were 44-26 for the North Stars, as Blake Voth made 43 saves.

Jesse Mireau and Bob Pond did the scoring for Melville.

The Millionaires are still 3 back of Yorkton with a game in hand, and now 8 up on Estevan. The Bruins have 4 games left, and have the tie breaker vs Melville. The Mils need one more point or one lost point for the Bruins to finish Top 3.

Jeff Bartel scored in overtime, and the Swan Valley Stampeders finished off a perfect evening for our 3 local teams in action, beating the OCN Blizzard 3-2 (OT) in Swan.

TJ Fairall and Dylan Favell had the other Swan goals, whilw Justin Valentino added 2 assists.

The Stamps are 5 points ahead of Wayway again, for the Sherwood Division's final playoff spot.

Swan's in OCN on Friday, while Wayway heads to Selkirk/Saints on Friday/Saturday.
