TERRIERS SOLVE KILGORE THIS TIME

Weyburn Red Wings' goaltender Mitch Kilgore stole the Terriers' home opener on September 17th, plain and simple. The Terriers out-shot the Wings 37-20 that night, only to lose 2-1.

On Tuesday, the Terriers snapped a two game slide, beating the Wings 4-2 on home ice, thanks in part to three powerplay goals.

One line did a lot of the damage. I coined them the "French Connection" on opening night... not sure if they have a lick of french in them or if their names just sound like it... but Brenden Poncelet had two goals and an assist, Justin Lamontagne had three helpers, while Kailum Gervais scored his first SJHL goal, as part of a Gordie Howe Hat Trick, as he added one assist and a fight.

Warren Shymko made 24 saves as the Terriers improved to 4-and-3 on the season, and they're off to Melfort on Wednesday night.

The Swan Valley Stampeders erased a 2-0 deficit, but would end up losing 5-3 in Dauphin Tuesday night.

Ryan Wigner, Jagger Thomas and Connor Pennell scored for the Stampeders, while Jayson Argue made 44 saves on 48 shots, before the Kings added an empty netter.

The Stamps have now lost two straight, and host the Wayway Wolverines on Wednesday (7:30 on GX94).
