The Spokane Chiefs have reassigned 18-year-old goaltender Zach Rakochy to the Melville Millionaires of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Rakochy appeared in one game during the regular season. The move leaves the Chiefs with 24 players, including two goaltenders; Mac Engel and Luke Lee-Knight. The Chiefs also have nine defensemen and 13 forwards.

With Wakaluk playing so well this is likely the demise of Alex Sirard.

I think Wakaluk earned the starting job, at least for now. Personally I don't see them keeping a 20 year old back up. I can see them going with the two 18-year-olds for a while... and possibly adding a vet somewhere down the road.

I think you nailed it Steiner! Sadly Sirard will be gone. The way he played in the playoffs last year...I think he could be a solid #1... He didn't get enough of a chance this year.

I think sirard got more than enough chances this year. He was not very good in preseason and he is currently ranked 21 out of 22 goalies in the sjhl based on his stats so far. That is not good enough for a team that has expectations of a long playoff run

One would have to think that with Spokane keeping him so long that they were trying to find him a WHL home some where else?
