MILS/TERRIERS LOSE

The Millionaires trailed 3-0 early in their season opener in Estevan. They nearly clawed their way back twice with quick goals, but the Bruins kept the Mils at arms length and tacked on some late ones to open Spectra Place with an 8-4 win.

Michael Desjarlais and Roger Tagoona scored 12 seconds apart to make it 3-2 late in the first, while Ian McNulty and Colin Mospanchuk scored less than five minutes apart early in the third, making it 5-4.

Calder Neufeld (2g-1a) and Dylan Smith (3a) had 3 points each for the Bruins.

Alex Sirard allowed 8 goals on 37 shots for the Mils.

The Millionaires hold their golf tournament on Sunday, and travel to Notre Dame on Tuesday (8:00 on GX94).

After the Yorkton Terriers won their season opener in Weyburn on Friday, the Red Wings returned the favour Saturday in Yorkton, beating the Terriers 2-1.

Yorkton out-shot Weyburn 37-20, but had trouble solving Mitch Kilgore.

Zak Majkowski scored the Terriers' lone goal.

They're back in action Wednesday, at home against Flin Flon.
