It's Football Weekend in Yorkton. Jordan Matechuk's in town for his annual camp, Friday and Saturday, Brittany Thies will run her Cheerleading clinic Saturday, and of course, it's all capped off with Football Night in Saskatchewan, Saturday Night at St. Mary's Cultural Centre. Wes Cates is the keynote speaker, and will be joined by the likes of Gene Makowsky, U of S Huskies' Head Coach Brian Towriss, and former Winnipeg Blue Bomber RB and 1984 CFL Most Outstanding Player, Willard Reaves.
If you don't have a ticket to the sold out event, some of those guests will be at Yorkton's Western Financial Group Downtown Park Saturday from 12:00 - 2:00 for a FREE Barbeque. The Rider cheerleaders will also be on hand performing.
Another Rider-related event coming to Yorkton, is Richie Hall's 20th Annual Red Cross Golf Classic, at Deer Park on May 27th.
Jeff Bahrey and Ryan Kitchen joined me on the GX morning show on Wednesday to promote that, and at that time, there were very few spots remaining. Check with Deer Park at 786-1711 to get one of the few remaining entries.
I also caught up with Richie himself this week... and he's excited for his 20th annual tournament, and he's bringing Head Coach Greg Marshall, receiver Weston Dressler, and others with him.
Listen for more!
