That gives the Terriers their second straight Sherwood Conference Championship, a year after beating the Klippers in 7 games, before losing to La Ronge in 6 games in the final.
After three lopsided wins, the fourth one was most definitely the toughest.
The Terriers struck first, and held a 2-0 lead after the first period, on goals from Riley Paterson and Justin Buzzeo.
But then, Devin Peters' shutout streak finally ended, after an incredible 162 minutes and 22 seconds, when Taylor Wasden beat him with a slap shot from just inside the blue line. Andrew Dommett tied it just over 3 minutes later.
Buzzeo would score his 2nd of the game, and 5th in his last two games late in the middle frame, and that would stand as the winner.
The third period was scoreless. The Terriers had chances to put it away, firing 20 3rd period shots, but couldn't solve Sean Cahill, who gave his team every opportunity to win Game 4.
The Klippers narrowly missed tying it up, as Sanfred King put a wrist shot off the crossbar with about 15 seconds left.
Kindersley says goodbye to nine outstanding 20-year-olds. Their whole top line of Andrew Dommett, Johnny Calkins and Braeden Adamyk. Those three were somethin' to watch, especially the last two seasons. Calkins probably won't remember me, but I interviewed him a couple times when I was a reporter in Moose Jaw and he was lighting it up with the "AAA" Warriors. A TONNE of guys from that team went on to play in the SJ. Calkins, Thomas Williams (ND), Riley Gillies (HUM), Tony Oak (BAT), A-Jay Moore (ND), Roy Farrer (ND), Andrew Herle (KIN), Joel Kot (EST), Brian Sydiaha (BAT), Tory Wilfong (EST), Brady Wilyman (MVL)... Probably more.
Other 20 year old Klippers are Sanfred King, Spencer Braaten, Kurt Leedahl, Johnathan Sonntag, Cody Lund and Sean Cahill.
It sounds cliche at this time of year, but I truly wish them all the best, and have no doubt most or all will be playing somewhere next season, whether it be college or pro.
Also wanna thank and congratulate Brendan Ullrich on a great first season as Voice of the Klippers. He's the same age as the Klipper grads (I've been there!) and he did a heck of a job. Between Brendan and Josh Lewis of the Kindersley newspaper, I'm not sure there's a team better-covered in the SJ than the Klippers.
The Terriers are the first team to advance to the final in either Saskatchewan or Manitoba, as the SJ will soon be parred to 2 teams, and the race to the Anavet Cup, and a berth in the RBC to four.
La Ronge beat Melfort 3-1 on Wednesday, and lead the Bauer Conference Final 3-1, with Game 5 Friday in La Ronge.
If the Mustangs don't win three straight, it's a rematch of last year's final.

Congrats to the Terriers they played outstanding it was worth the drive to watch them play, the Klippers made a valiant effort but couldnt do it, somebody needs to call the dog whisperer because thse dogs are out of control.
Proud Dad
As much as I enjoyed watching the first 3 games knowing Terriers had it in the bag, I preferred last nights game. Klippers came out fighting & showed that they were not going to make the last win easy for terriers. It made the game that much more exciting to watch. Very happy for the guys on a well played series and am looking forward to the next set.
Congratulations to the Terriers....they have played outstanding through the playoffs so far. Looking forward to the sj final. If they continue to play like they have been, I have no doubt in my mind that they can beat either LaRonge or Melfort.
I believe Trent Cassan made one of the best coaching decisions, when he decided to split up Buzzeo and Boyer. I think they have played better as a team since he split them up. Teams were focusing too much on that pair when they played together and now both of them as well as the team are having great sucess apart.
What do you think on this Craig?
go laronge eat the dogs up.
