Must Win Now: Stamps Drop Game 5

Another slow start on the road costed the Swan Valley Stampeders, as they fell 5-2 in Portage last (THU) night.

That leaves the Stampeders facing elimination, down 3-2 in their Best-of-Seven series with the Terriers.

Portage stormed out to a 2-0 lead through 40 minutes, and while the Stamps were able to get within one goal twice, the Terriers never let them get back to even.

Shelby Gray and Jeff Peel (SH) scored second period goals, and Portage tacked on two in the third. Brent Wold scored twice for the Terriers, while Andrew Wiebe and Cody Kostecki also had 2 point nights.

Shots were 33-28 for Portage. Jayson Argue took the loss.

A must-win Game 6 goes tomorrow (SAT) night in Swan River at 7:30. We'll have the action, starting with the Pre Game Show at 7:15.

Friday night's broadcast will be from Estevan, where the Yorkton Terriers get their first chance to advance to the Sherwood Conference Final, up 3-0 heading into Game 4.

Maybe Dylan Wells will get the start in net. Perhaps a change is in order to jump start the Stamps. Can't hurt?
