A year ago, there were nothing but upsets in the SJHL playoffs. Both #1 seeds were knocked out by Survivor Series winners, while the final would end up featuring the 7th and 10th ranked teams in the league, in the Sherwood Conference 5th Place Yorkton Terriers, and Bauer Conference 4th Place La Ronge Ice Wolves.This year, in both the SJHL and MJHL, the top two teams in all four divisions between the two leagues are moving on, after Dauphin survived a scare from OCN, beating the Blizzard 2-1 in overtime in Game 7 Wednesday night, after OCN erased a 3-1 series deficit to force a 7th game.
