Just When You Thought The Playoffs Couldn't Get More Exciting...

As unreal as some of those Melville-Estevan Survivor Series comebacks were, I'm not sure they hold a candle to what happened Sunday night in Winkler.

The Flyers scored a PP goal with 1:23 remaining to make it 3-1, and it looked like the Wayway Wolverines would be down 2-games-to-1.

Dave Williams cut it to 3-2, when he banked one off of Flyers' goalie Reed Peters and in from behind the net... but, there were only 8 seconds left.

The Wolverines called a time out, and executed their face-off play to perfection. Paul Van de Velde picked up the puck with speed, stopped as he crossed the blueline, threw it on net, and everyone banged away. The red light came on as the buzzer sounded, after a lengthy debate, the officials ruled that the goal would stand.

3-3, off to overtime.

5:22 in, Shane Goodrunning scored his second of the game, poking a rebound into an open cage.

Wolverines win 4-3 (OT), in miraculous fashion, and take a 2-1 series lead, heading home for Game 4 on Tuesday.

WOW!

A few of us drove from Brandon to watch the game out of boredom.... and what a game to come to! I have never seen anything like that!

No one gave Wayway as much trouble during the year as Winkler. If they can find a way to win 2 more, look out!

Winkler should be down 3-0 in this series and should consider themselves lucky to not be! Go Wayway go!

Signed, a Terriers fan (PS: I meant TOTAL in that first post haha!)

I'll respectfully disagree there.

Wayway probabaly SHOULD NOT HAVE wom Game 3.

They also likely SHOULD HAVE won Game 2.

Game 1 was a 1-1 tie until late. Either team could be up or down 3-0. Up 2-1 is a good place right now!
