Wayway Wolverines Playoff Bound! / Stamps Stay in Sherwood

After missing the playoffs in the first seven years of their existence, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines made the post-season in 3 straight years from 2006-07 to 2008-09. They were on the outside looking in again last season... but now, they're goin' back.

The Wolverines lost 6-3 to Dauphin on Saturday night, but Neepawa also fell 4-3 to the Winnipeg Blues.

That result leaves Neepawa 9 points back of Wayway with only 4 games left, meaning the Wolverines clinch.

They also already know they'll be crossing over to the Addison Divsion, with Swan Valley beating OCN 5-2 on Saturday. The Stamps are 8 up on Wayway and the Wolverines have 3 to play. Therefore, Swan Valley's guaranteed to finish no lower than 4th, and will remain in the Sherwood Division for playoffs.

The Stamps are 3 back of OCN with 3 to play, including another head to head match Tuesday in The Pas, so the Stampeders could still get as high as 3rd.

Winkler won 5-3 in Steinbach, so the Flyers are now in 1st place by themselves, 2 points up on Selkirk in the Addison Division. Selkirk has one game in hand. Whoever finishes first will have home ice advantage against Wayway in round one.

Melville led La Ronge 2-0 2:30 into Saturday night's game at the Vault, but they went on to lose 7-3.

The good news for the Mils, was Notre Dame lost 3-1 to Humboldt. Melville still haven't clinched 5th... but their magic number is now 1.

A win Tuesday in Estevan, OR a Notre Dame regulation loss in one of their final two games (SUN @ WEY, MON @ EST) would do it for the Millionaires.
