At one point, I remember the Terriers had a 13 point lead atop the SJHL Sherwood Conference, and it was the Estevan Bruins sitting in 2nd. The Kindersley Klippers were the best team in the Sherwood since Christmas, and really put the heat on the Terriers, but Yorkton was able to hold them off and claim the Sherwood Conference pennant.
Because that cushion was trimmed down, there's a bit of a misconception that the Terriers are struggling heading into the playoffs.
Really, they only struggled for a 7 game stretch where they failed to pick up a win, starting before Christmas, and ending in mid-January. They left some points on the table due to less than stellar success in OT and shootouts... but lucky for them, 4-on-4 OT, and shootouts are no longer once playoffs start! They also picked up points in 9 of their last 10 regular season games, and most of that stretch was without Devin Peters, Blaine Tendler, Robbie Ciolfi and Zak Majkowski.
Another misconception in some circles is that the Terriers have struggled as a team since acquiring Jeremy Boyer and Justin Buzzeo from Humboldt, and that the two of them will get their points, and the team they're on will suffer despite them. Yorkton went 10-4-1-2 since the trade... so hopefully that theory gets put to bed.
I would agree that the Terriers aren't playing their BEST hockey of the season right now, but they haven't played one game since acquiring Boyer, Buzzeo and Brant Remenda with each of their top 12 forwards, top 6 defensemen, and Devin Peters all in the lineup.

There'll be more Terrier talk on the blog leading up to their playoffs, while Melville will likely take centre stage as this week rolls along. But, there's a quick look at Yorkton's regular season.
The Terriers play either the Estevan Bruins or Melville Millionaires in the Sherwood Conference Semi-Finals, beginning either March 4th or 5th in Yorkton.
