Christmas Break in Full Swing; Wolverines Fall To Portage

The Wayway Wolverines were the last of our four teams to hit the holidays, after a 6-4 loss to Portage on Sunday afternoon.

Shane Goodrunning scored twice for the Wolverines, giving him 26 on the season, while Steven Duda and Dave Williams had the other.

Ryan Benitez faced 38 shots, taking the loss.

I mentioned in my Wolverines' Halfway Report that December could be a "make-or-break" month. And, they gained a little ground on the pack, going 4-2-1 in 7 divisional games. They're 4 points back of Neepawa for a potential playoff spot, and very much alive in the race.

They've played 38 games, have a record of 15-18-5, which leaves them with 24 games remaining after the break, starting January 3rd and 4th when they travel to face the OCN Blizzard.
