Williams Wins it For Wayway

Dave Williams scored his second of the night, 1:53 into overtime, giving the Wayway Wolverines a 4-3 (OT) win over the Swan Valley Stampeders Tuesday night.

Williams notched his 4th and 5th goals of the season, on two similar plays, where he beat the Swan Valley defense off the rush down his off-wing.

Shane Goodrunning added his team-leading 12th of the season, and Zaine Walker also scored for Wayway during a three goal, 24 shot second period.

For the Stamps, Brad McDonald was in on all three Stampeder goals, with a goal and two helpers. Cramer Coulthart and Brent Wilson notched the others.

Wayway's now back to .500 at 8-8-3, and are now 8-3-1 in their last 12 games. The win leaves them one point shy of Dauphin for 5th in the Sherwood, with a game in hand.

With Swan Valley's single point, and Portage winning, the Stamps and Terriers are now in a first place tie, and Portage has played two fewer games. Neepawa also won on Tuesday night, and are just 3 points behind Swan, with 5 games in hand.
