Wells Blanks Blizzard / PJHL on the Air

Jesse Enns scored the first goal of the game at 13:36 of the third period, and it stood up as the winner, as the Swan Valley Stampeders beat OCN 2-0 on Wednesday.

Tony Partridge added an empty-netter with one minute left.

The Stamps got a little revenge, from the 2-0 loss they suffered in OCN back on October 19th.

Wednesday's game also marked the return to the lineup for Ryan Marshall. It was Marshall's first game in Stampeder colours for the first time since October 15th. It also appears on the stats sheet that Jeff Peel made his return from injury, but has his with the wrong number. #25 is Jeff Riddell... Peel did not play but isn't too far away from suiting up.

Dylan Wells made 29 saves for his first shutout of the season. As a team, it was the Stampeders' 3rd shutout of the season.

It was a good night for the Stamps, who picked up their league-best 17th win, made sure the Blizzard didn't gain any ground in the standings, and also checked the out of town scoreboard to find Neepawa lost their 4th in a row, 7-3 in Steinbach.

The Stamps will find out what they're made of this weekend. How's this for a road trip? Friday in Selkirk (1st in Addison, 2nd in league)... Saturday in Winkler (2nd in Addison, 4th in league)... Sunday in Portage (2nd in Sherwood, 3rd in league).

I was in Pilot Butte, SK on Wednesday night, for our second of five Prairie Junior Hockey League broadcasts this season.

It was a great game... the Ochapowace Thunder won a back-and-forth game over the hometown Storm 6-5 in a shootout.

Jeremy Johnson scored twice, his 10th and 11th of the season, while Brett Holloway scored the only goal of the shootout.

Kevin Genaille stopped 38 shots through regulation and overtime, and all three shooters he faced in the shootout.

Our next PJHL broadcast is Wed/Dec/8, when Fort Knox visits Pilot Butte.

I was at the game, and Peel definitely wasn't in the lineup (MJHL site is wrong).
Great game to watch, and great goaltending at both ends of the rink.

Ya I noticed he was listed as #25, and he's usually 23. Wondered what was up.
