Terriers Hit Halfway Point in Style / Trades

Say what you want about games played, games in hand, etc... but as the Yorkton Terriers hit the halfway point of their schedule last night in Estevan, they now lead the SJHL in wins, points, games above .500, and winning percentage.

The Terriers held off the Bruins 2-1 on the road last night, thanks to first period goals from Zak Majkowski (16) and Keon Vick (2). As per usual in Estevan, the score clock was shut off as a the final buzzer sounded, and third period shots weren't added, nor were they updated on the webiste, but Devin Peters had made 29/29 saves in the first two periods, while Joel Danyluk had faced 20 shots through 40 minutes at the other end.

Justin Waskewitch scored for Estevan early in period three.

The Terriers are now 7 points up on the 2nd place Bruins, and Estevan has 4 games in hand, and with Humboldt going 3-and-7 in their last 10 games, the Terriers now have a league-best winning percentage of .655.

I'll have an extended Terriers' Halfway Report later this afternoon/evening.

---------------

Yorkton and Swan Valley have hooked up for yet another trade. The Terriers have sent 1991 F Sam Prpich to the Stampeders for future considerations.

---------------

The Melville Millionaires acquired 19 year old goalie Alex Sirard from the Battlefords North Stars for future considerations.

Sirard spent part of last season in Estevan.

He'll team up with 17 year old Zach Rakochy in the Mils' crease, after the departure of 20 year old Kyle Jahraus.

I am not a fan of future consideration trades, the Terriers have given up quality players recently. It seems we do not get that type of quality player back. My opinion!
Good call last night Craig!

This one won't be for a player to be named later. Just a cash deal.
