Terriers 3 @ Mils 4 (SO)

Just like the Friday game in the first Highway 10 Battle of the season, the Melville Millionaires used a shootout to get the extra point, in a 4-3 (SO) decision, this time on home ice against the Yorkton Terriers. Michael Rogoschewsky opened the scoring on a late first period powerplay, but Yorkton's Brennan Tutt also sniped on the PP before the period was out. Brayden Metz stepped out of the penalty box early in the second period and went top shelf to give the Millionaires a 2-1 lead, but his Captain counterpart Blaine Tendler answered just 22 seconds later, and Zak Majkowski gave the Terriers their first and only lead of the game on another powerplay goal halfway through the middle frame. Lucas Froese tied it for Melville just 58 seconds into the third, and that forced extra time. The Terriers had the bulk of the chances, with 8 shots in the extra frame alone, but a shootout was needed, and Zach Rakochy, who was credited with 55 saves on 58 shots, stopped all three shooters (Eisenhut, Breitkreuz, Struble) he faced, while Melville's Cody Hanson scored in the third round of the SO. The two teams hook up tonight (SAT) in Yorkton, 7:30 at FAA.

another melt down again by the terriers .they let anothergame get away from them when they can have two points instead of one.they cant seem to win in the shootout latley .maybe they should play a lot hard trying to win the games in regular time.

shot totals are accurate for the first and third periods on Rakochy,as well as OT. I should know, I was the goaljudge.

I thought the totals were fairly accurate... IMO, the Terriers had a a lot of shots from the outside...quite a few of those 58 weren't quality chances, though Rakochy made many beauty saves.
