The blueline for Team West at the upcoming will have a real Parkland flavour when the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge kicks off in Winnipeg & Portage la Prairie after Christmas.
Landon Peel, a Virden product, currently with the Swan Valley Stampeders (after being re-assigned by the Regina Pats) and Kelowna Rockets' rookie Damon Severson, from Melville, both made the team.
Also from this neck of the woods, Ryan Pulock, a Grandview, MB native, who suits up for the Brandon Wheat Kings, will wear Team Canada Red & White.
The bulk of the players on Team West are from either WHL or Midget 'AAA' rosters. Peel and Portage Terrier F Brendan Harms are they only ones from Junior 'A'.
The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge runs from December 29th to January 4th in Winnipeg and Portage.
