Trailing 3-0 after two periods, Team Canada West rallied to make it 4-4, before falling 5-4 in overtime to Switzerland in their round robin opener at the World Junior 'A' Challenge in Penticton.
Clarke Breitkreuz (Yorkton) and Ryan Marshall (Swan Valley) each had an assist.
With an 0-and-1 start, Canada West will more than likley have to go through the tournament the hard way, which means through the Quarter-Finals, rather than having a bye to the Semis.
They play Russia on Wednesday to finish up their round robin. If they were to beat Russia, and Russia beat the Swiss, then there'd be a 3-way tie, and there would still be a chance for Team West to finish first in Group 'A'.
I'll try to get ahold of Clarke sometime today, for tonight's Terrier broadcast, but he told me phone privileges are pretty strict, and evenings are usually the best time.
Terriers in Notre Dame tonight... 7:50 / 8:00 on GX94.
