Argue Posts First MJHL Shutout

17-year-old Jayson Argue stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Swan Valley Stampeders improved to 3-and-0 with a 3-0 win over the Wayway Wolverines on Wednesday.

Former Yorkton Terrier Clark Byczynski opened the scoring, with his first as a Stamp, while Cramer Coulthart scored twice in the third period.

The loss drops the Wolverines' mark to 0-2-1. They're at home for the first time on Saturday against OCN, while Swan Valley hits the road this weekend, starting Friday in Selkirk.

-----------------

The Yorkton Terriers had a 2-0 lead, then trailed 5-2, before nearly clawing back, but lost 5-4 in Melfort.

The Terriers' quick start was thanks to some great goaltending from Warren Shymko and early goals courtesy Rylan McDonell and Zak Majkowsky. Both goals bounced off of Mustang defensemen and in, and there were a few goofy ones at the other end too.

Robbie Ciolfi (SH) and Kelly Leismeister scored in the third period to narrow the gap.

Shymko stopped 39/44 in the loss.

Yorkton welcomes Kindersley tonight (THU), and Nipawin on Saturday.

----------------

Melville dropped to 0-and-3 with a 4-2 home ice loss against Kindersley.

The Klippers took a 3-0 lead, before Cody Hanson and Michael Desjarlais got the Mils back in it.

Kyle Jahraus made 40 saves on 44 Kindersley shots.

Speaking about the Stamps, where's todays (Thursday's) coaches show? I don't see it on the usual 'weekly coach's shows MJHL & SJHL' link...

I was under the weather today and didn't spend a lot of time at the office. I did record the show though, and will post it first thing in the morning.
