I felt like I'd been hit by a bus yesterday. Pounding head, stiff muscles everywhere. So, I went to bed at 7:15, woke up 3 times, and was awake for good by 4:30. That's before the alarm was set for, but all-in-all, 9+ hours of sleep... I feel like a million bucks this morning! Made coffee and a big breakfast and watched SportsCentre from 5:30 - 6:00.

657 people came to this site yesterday to find out who was going where in the Yorkton-Swan-Blues trade. Pretty sure that's an off-season record. But not near enough to get involved in the Rod Pedersen-Gregg Drinnan "who's blog is better" war! Those guys get THOUSANDS of hits daily, hockey season, football season or otherwise... and they had about a 3-day cyber feud going on over the weekend. Entertaining at least!

What do you think about the trade? The Smukowich deal was made by Ed Zawatsky back in January. Some would argue he threw away part of the future by loading up a sub-.500 team at the deadline. BUT... we all know how the Terriers made out last season. And I would argue... no Troy Smukowich, no Sherwood Conference Championship. As Trent Cassan said, gotta give up something to get something. But there's no question it hurts now.

Know what makes ZERO sense? The SJHL and MJHL seasons start the same weekend (Sep 17/18). SJHL camps start this Friday. MJHL Pre-Season starts tonight. ???? Not saying which one's wrong... but why were the two leagues anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks apart in starting training camps?
Swan Valley's in Dauphin tonight, while the two Winnipeg teams meet up.
Wayway doesn't play a Pre-Season game until September 8th against Melville.

It's September tomorrow?

I never thought I'd say I was glad to miss a Rider game for a wedding reception, until Saturday night. If they don't sweep the Bombers these next two weeks, the Riders can kiss any chance of 1st place goodbye, and might have to start looking over their shoulders too.

LAST DAY TO VOTE FOR YORKTON AT RIDERVILLE.COM! Voting ends tonight... and there's a link in the top-right corner of this page.
